About Me

Kostas_edited.jpg

I am often described as warm, compassionate, and deeply reflective. These qualities have shaped not only who I am, but also the way I work as a therapist. Throughout my life, I have been drawn to philosophical, intellectual and spiritual inquiry, and this continuing exploration has greatly influenced my understanding of healing, meaning, and human experience.

For  many years, I have found profound inspiration in the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh, whose gentle wisdom has deepened my appreciation for compassion, presence, and mindful awareness. His work has been one of many influences that have helped shape my approach to therapy as a space of care, reflection, and restoration.

Before establishing my counselling practice, I spent many years working in roles devoted to supporting others, including community organisations, education, health and also palliative and hospice care. This work offered a deep and humbling insight into suffering, resilience, loss, and the importance of meeting people with dignity, sensitivity, and humanity. It continues to inform the way I sit with clients today.

As a therapist, I am committed to supporting healing and restoring balance through compassionate, trauma-informed care. I offer a safe, respectful, and supportive space where individuals can explore trauma, emotional pain, and personal challenges at their own pace. My intention is to create a therapeutic environment where you feel heard, understood, and gently supported in making sense of your experiences.

My therapeutic approach has also been enriched by the work of many respected teachers and clinicians in the fields of psychotherapy, trauma, and mental health. Their ideas and methods continue to inform my practice in thoughtful and meaningful ways. Some of these include: Irvin Yalom, Bessel van der Kolk, Janina Fisher, Allan Schore, Daniel Siegel, Ruth Lanius, Gabor Mate, Arielle Schwartz, Richard C. Schwartz, Frank Anderson, Pat Ogden, Stephen Porges, Jeffrey Young, Graham Taylor, David Jobes and many others.

At the heart of my work is a belief that healing can unfold in the presence of safety, compassion, and genuine human connection.

Therapy is not simply about addressing symptoms, but about creating space for insight, resilience, and lasting transformation.
